LUCKNOW: A
troop of monkeys ripped wires
and wreaked havoc with
internet services
for two hours at
Queen Mary's Hospital
in the heart of the city on Tuesday.
The disruption in connectivity delayed registration and admission of patients, most of them pregnant women. Patients and their kin had to hop counters to get work done until services were restored around 12.30pm.
The IT cell of of
King George's Medical University
(KGMU), under which the hospital functions, said all departments except for the septic ward were back on the grid within two hours.
"The septic ward was worst hit. Monkeys damaged most of wires here and these are being replaced. Connectivity will be restored soon," said head of the IT cell Dr Sandeep Bhattacharya.
