LUCKNOW: The BJP on Wednesday released the list of its 30 leaders who will be campaigning for the party in the first phase, comprising 58 assembly seats. The leaders are expected to reach out to the party supporters and workers digitally in the wake of pandemic.

PM Narendra Modi, BJP's trump card occupies the number one slot, followed by party national president JP Nadda, defence minister Rajnath Singh and home minister and party's chief strategist Amit Shah. UP BJP chief Swatantra Dev Singh, too, figures higher up the order, followed by Union minister and BJP's UP election in charge Dharmendra Pradhan. They are followed by the party's saffron poster boy and UP CM Yogi Adityanath, who himself is contesting from Gorakhpur (urban) seat.

The party has also slotted deputy CM Keshav Maurya, BJP's most prominent non-Yadav OBC face, as one of the campaigners in the first phase. He is preceded by BJP vice-president Radha Mohan Singh, Deputy Leader of the House in Rajya Sabha and Union Minister of Minority Affairs, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and Union minister Smriti Irani.

The BJP has also included Muzaffarnagar MP Sanjiv Balyan, party's west UP region president Mohit Beniwal and Etah MP Rajeer Singh, son of former UP CM late Kalyan Singh as party campaigners.

will also campaign. Verma, a Lodh, is a resident of Badaun and is considered close to Kalyan. BJP MP from Fatehpur and junior minister in ministry of rural development, Niranjan Jyoti too has been included in the list.

BJP MP from Aonla, Dharmendra Kashyap, too, has been listed as one of the party campaigners. UP BJP vice-president JPS Rathore, who is part of BJP's strategic wing and a resident of Shahjahanpur, will also campaign.
