Public, NGOs and public representatives in the state are coming forward in a big way to help the rain ravaged state of Uttarakhand and its people.
MLA donates Rs 1cr for Uttarakhand
LUCKNOW: Public, NGOs and public representatives in the state are coming forward in a big way to help the rain ravaged state of Uttarakhand and its people. Till July 1, the chief minister's relief fund had received donations of over Rs 4.41 crore for the cause. On Wednesday, Rameshwar Singh Yadav, Member of Legislative Assembly from Etah donated Rs 1 crore to the chief minister's relief fund.

The MLA collected the money from people of his constituency and it would be used to help in relief and rehabilitation in Uttarakhand. Lauding the public, members of the Samajwadi Party and everyone involved in collecting funds for Uttarakhand, Yadav said it was heartening to see so many hands rising for help. Yadav has already donated his one month salary. Governor B L Joshi has also given his one month salary for the cause. In addition, the state government has given Rs 25 crore. The government has also released Rs. 350.79 crore to Uttarakhand as one time installment of pension fund.
