LUCKNOW: Unhappy with her daughter for marrying against her will a 50-year-old woman committed suicide by hanging herself here on Tuesday. The incident was reported from Aliganj police circle. The woman who took the grave step was identified as Binda Devi of Triveninagar. The incident came to light in the afternoon after Devi's nephew, Rajeev Anand told the police about it.
Rajeev told police that in the afternoon he had gone to deposit the electricity bill of the house and Binda was alone.

Her husband, Ahivaran, who is deputy director administration (DDA) in Mandi Parishad, had also gone out of the house when the incident occurred. When Rajeev came back he called her but when she did not respond from her room he went inside only to see her hanging from the ceiling fan.
The police were informed immediately. During the initial investigation from the family members it came to light that Binda was not keeping well since the past few days. She was also under depression as her daughter, Kiran, just before Holi had married against the will of the family. Family members tried to talk to her out of her depression but in vain as she could not accept her daughter's act.
The police, however, did not find any suicide note from the site. The body was sent for the postmortem examination and investigations in the matter were on.
