Meerut election results 2024: BJP's Arun Govil wins with over 5.46 lakh votes

MEERUT: In the ongoing Lok Sabha elections in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, Arun Govil from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is in the lead, as per the latest reports from polling stations. BJP's Arun Govil won with a vote margin of 10,585 against SP's Sunita Verma.

His closest rival, Abid Husain from the Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI), is trailing behind, indicating a significant advantage for Govil in the electoral race.

Other candidates, including Bhupendra Pal (RSOSP), Devvrat Kumar Tyagi (BSP), Haji Afzal (SACP), Himanshu Bhatnagar (JHNP), Liyakat (MLSP), and Sunita Verma (SP), are also behind Govil, according to the latest updates.

The None of the Above (NOTA) option is also trailing, reflecting the clear preference of voters towards candidates rather than abstention.

The battle for Meerut Lok Sabha Constituency in Uttar Pradesh has intensified, with the election successfully held on April 26. The voter turnout was recorded at 58.94 percent, showcasing the enthusiasm of the electorate in Meerut.

Rajendra Agrawal defeated Haji Mohammad Yaqoob of the BSP, who received 5,81,455 votes.
