LUCKNOW: Pushpendra Singh -- son of additional chief medical officer (ACMO), Faizabad, Dr MK Singh -- reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself at his Indiranagar residence in Lucknow on Saturday evening.
A student of second year at Muzaffarnagar Medical College (MMC), Pushpendra, according to the police, was passing through a phase of extreme mental tension that could have provoked him to take such a drastic step.

Police said that Pushpendra was earlier putting up at his college hostel but her parents brought him back to Lucknow after he took ill and began to stay put at his hostel room for days at a stretch about a month ago. On Saturday afternoon, the Singhs left for the local market in Indiranagar but Pushpendra opted to stay back at home. Later in the evening, when the Singhs returned, they found Pushpendra's body hanging from the ceiling of his room.
The family, with the help of their neighbours brought Pushpendra down and rushed him to the Lohia Hospital where the doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival. Police confirmed that no suicide note could be found from the scene of the incident but Pushpendra passing through depression was not only confirmed by his family members but his friends as well.
