Maya to review poll pick criteria for UP elections in BSP meet
Lucknow: BSP national president Mayawati will discuss the criteria for selection of candidates for the 2027 UP assembly elections in a special meeting of the party’s UP unit on Sunday.
She will also review the party’s preparedness for assembly elections scheduled next year.
With not more than 10 months left for the elections in the state, BSP’s state review meetings have become frequent.
Since Jan, Mayawati has been holding reviews on a monthly basis. In the meetings, she has been emphasising increasing the mass base of the party among all castes and communities and making the party economically independent.
Mayawati has already announced to contest the elections solo. Social engineering would be her key strategy for the elections.
The party has taken up outreach efforts for different castes and communities, including Dalits, OBCs, Brahmins and Muslims.
Meanwhile, in the Sunday review, office-bearers from the state, district and lower units of the party organisation will be present.
