Maya says 17-yr-old kabaddi player’s murder ‘alarming’, demands arrest of accused
Lucknow: BSP national president Mayawati on Tuesday said that the news about the murder of Anushka Pal, a national kabaddi player, is “extremely heartbreaking and alarming” and demanded strict action against the accused.
“The news of the murder of Anushka Pal, a 17-year-old national kabaddi player from Chirodi village in Sardhana Assembly constituency of Meerut, is extremely heartbreaking and alarming,” Mayawati posted on X.
She said that the incident had shaken society to the core and demanded swift arrest of those involved in the crime. “Govt should take strict legal action against them so that the victim’s family receives justice and such an incident is not repeated.”
Anushka, who was missing for over six weeks, was found dead in a drain on Monday. Police said she was murdered by a fast-food vendor over an unpaid debt.
