LUCKNOW: Two unidentified motorcycle-borne miscreants shot at a 50-year-old collection agent working with a private housing and investment company and took away Rs 75,000 from him while he was going to his home after collecting the money under Aminabad police station area on Monday night.
The victim, who was identified as Sanjay Sahu, a resident of Hata Durga Prasad in Aminabad was rushed to the Trauma Centre with a gunshot injury.
Sanjay, the police said, is working with a private housing company as a collection agent. As a routine work, he collected the money from various investors in Aminabad and at around 9.30 pm left for his home on his motorcycle.
Sanjay had hardly reached Kachcha Hata area, when two motorcycle-borne miscreants came from behind and tried to snatch the cash kept in the bag. The move was resisted by Sanjay.
Sensing trouble, a miscreant whipped out a country-made pistol and shot at Sanjay. The bullet hit the collection agent in the stomach and he fell down. The two took away the bag which had cash and fled from the spot.
The residents of the area informed the police about the incident. Sanjay was rushed to the Trauma Centre. A manhunt had been launched to nab the miscreants.
