Man arrested for posing as PCS officer

Lucknow: The Gautampalli police arrested a man posing as a PCS officer at the Secretariat, who allegedly defrauded people by promising them govt accommodations. The accused, identified as Surya Prakash Saini, was caught with a fake ID card, a mobile phone, and an Aadhaar card in his possession.According to the police, the accused created a fake identity card and presented himself as a PCS officer in the Secretariat. Under this guise, he collected Rs 3.8 lakh from six individuals, including the complainant Suman, wife of Rajaram, a resident of Millingtonia Road, Railway Colony, Banderiyabagh, Lucknow.Saini allegedly promised govt accommodations to the victims but failed to deliver. When they demanded their money back, he abused and threatened them. This was based on a written complaint from Suman.The police are now conducting a detailed investigation to determine whether the accused defrauded other individuals using similar tactics.
