Man arrested for passing on vital info to ISI
LUCKNOW: The UP Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) on Tuesday arrested a man here for allegedly spying for the Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and passing on vital information across the border.
Accused Shailesh Kumar aka Shailendra Singh Chauhan (28) is a native of Kasganj.
Special director general, law and order, Prashant Kumar said that the accused was working as a cook-cum-porter on contractual basis in the army office in Arunachal Pradesh.
"The accused met an ISI agent Harleen Kaur on social media. Later, Harleen introduced Shailesh to another ISI handler Preeti. She used to give money to Shailesh for sharing photographs of the movement of Indian army. In fact, Shailesh got Rs 2,000 per picture," he added.
Additional director general, ATS, Mohit Agarwal said, "Shailesh's mobile phone has been seized and sent for forensic analysis. Probe is underway and the accused will be taken in remand for further questioning."
