Man, aides open fire on dad-son duo

A dispute between two car service owners led to an attempted murder. One of the owners, Ashish Singh, had a dispute with another owner, Meraj Ahmed, over the bill. Ahmed's son, Meraj, said that Singh and his men began beating him and his father. When Ashish pulled out a gun, Meraj's father tried to stop him, and Ashish shot 23 times at him, but missed. Ahmed's son and others present on the scene attacked Singh and his father with sticks, and Singh suffered injuries under his right eye. Ashish then ran his office close to his shop and fled the scene. A case has been registered against Ashish Singh and a manhunt is underway to capture him.

Lucknow: A man and his aides thrashed and opened fire on a father-son duo, who own a car service centre in Jankipuram, after a dispute over the payment for services.
According to police, Ashish Singh of Jankipuram and his three associates reached the car service centre, owned by Shakil Ahmed and his son Meraj, to get his car washed. When Meraj served the bill to Ashish, he lost his cool claiming that the charges were too high.

Meraj alleged that Ashish and his men started beating and abusing him and when his father tried to stop them, Ashish whipped out a pistol. “He fired 2-3 times on my father with an intention to kill him but he missed the target. They attacked me and my father with sticks. I suffered injuries under my right eye,” Meraj said. “When my father and others present on the spot raised an alarm, the attackers took to their heels,” he said. Meraj said that Ashish ran his office close to his shop and knew him for the last few years. SHO, Sairpur, Sunil Tiwari, said a case under attempt to murder and other sections has registered against the accused and a manhunt has been launched to nab him.
