LUCKNOW: Be it poetry, dance or music, Lucknow has a lot to offer to film-makers who want to produce films here, said film director
Muzaffar Ali.
"They should also rope in local talent from theatres to make films without big stars, which will be economical for them and also provide a global platform to the actors," Ali said, while talking to TOI at the Gomti Book Festival on Friday.
He was here for a panel discussion on 'Cinema in Lucknow'
He said, "Though the number of films being made in Lucknow in the past years have increased, there is a lot left to depict about Lucknow's culture, art and music using modern technology. Film-makers have the opportunity to go to theatres, watch plays, choose raw talent and make films.
If a film is made in Rs 10 crore with a star, without a star it can be made in Rs 2 crore with theatre talent." Further, he said, Awadh offers different types of music which take a person to another realm. Besides, it has Kathak, monuments and historical places and other attractions for making a film. "It has the soil of culture," he said.
