Lucknow: A major redevelopment project at Gaya railway station has prompted a 45-day operational block, resulting in significant changes to train routes and schedules.
The block, approved from Feb 5 to March 21, has been implemented to upgrade passenger amenities and carry out extensive construction work on platforms 2 and 3 under Deen Dayal Upadhyay division. During this period, several trains passing through the Lucknow division will operate on altered routes or with short termination and origination.

As part of route diversions, train 14223/14224 Buddha Purnima express will run from Rajgir to Varanasi junction via Patna junction and Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya junction.
Multiple services will face short termination and short origination at Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya junction. Train 14259 Ekta express, running via Maa Belha Devi Dham Pratapgarh junction, will terminate early at PDDU junction.
Its return service, train 14260, will originate from PDDU junction instead of its regular starting point between Feb 7 and March 21. Likewise, train 14261 and 14262 Ekta express, operating via Sultanpur, will also undergo short termination and originating at PDDU junction during the block period, said senior divisional commercial manager Kuldeep Tiwari.
