Made-in-Lucknow BrahMos missile will reach enemy’s den: Rajnath
Lucknow: "BrahMos supersonic cruise missile, which was limited to Bengaluru in South India for development and mass production, is now being done in North India. The Made-in-Lucknow missile will reach the enemy's den and destroy them where they are hiding," said Defence Minister Rajnath Singh while speaking to party workers on Friday before departing for New Delhi. He said, "A week ago, I commissioned the nuclear submarine, INS Arighat. Whosoever will attempt to be an enemy of India, this submarine will reach their doorstep. India's prowess is growing in the defence sector."The three-time Lucknow MP said, "Honestly, when I'm in Delhi, I don't have much information about where development work is happening in Lucknow or how much has been done. But people like Diwakar Tripathi, BJP mahanagar president Mukesh Sharma, deputy CM Brajesh Pathak, and Mayor Shushma Kharakwal keep updating me about the work that needs to be done."He said, "When I became an MP in 2014 from Lucknow, I had decided to build an eight-lane road around Lucknow, spanning 104 km to decongest the traffic of the city. Today the ring road is reality. Similarly, around 18 flyovers were proposed to regulate vehicular movement in the city, under my tenure as MP, 12 flyovers have been built, work is ongoing on 13th, and five more are proposed. Underpasses, too, are being constructed in the city to handle multi-direction traffic movement."The minister said, "I came to know that local residents had staged a protest in Para against the construction of the flyover due to the presence of a temple and houses falling in the pathway of the flyover. Despite these challenges, I'm trying to ensure that development work continues smoothly. I assure you that no temple will be harmed. I'm committed to resolving all issues related to development."He added that, "Soon the time travel between Lucknow and Kanpur will be reduced to just 45 minutes from existing two and a half hours with the upcoming greenfield expressway. Apart from roads, under my tenure railway stations in the city limits too have been improved and further work is being done—like second entries for Gomti Nagar station and the Charbagh railway station.""I have also focused on small things. Around 150 parks in the city have open gyms and I want 250 more parks to have gyms to promote health alongside development," said the minister.
