LUCKNOW: State government has extended nationalised routes to 88 and formulated 281 new routes improve connectivity to villages on which buses will ply. The nationalised routes are the ones that will have only roadsways buses operating on while the formulated routes will be open for both roadways and private buses.
Lucknow division has the two route-extensions and 19 formulated routes connecting villages in Mohanlalganj, Raebareli, Lucknow and Hardoi.

On Thursday, the Regional Transport Authority called for applications from bus operators for permits.
These 19 routes never had any 'legal' bus operation as RTA issued no permits prior to this.
Providing bus connectivity to village was one of the announcements in the BJP government's 'Sankalp Patra'. The government had launched 'sankalp bus seva' for villages on Wednesday.
