LUCKNOW: The second day of 'Uttarakhand Mahotsav' on Thursday began with a song-dance performance by artists from Dehradun. It was appreciated by the audience.

The Govind Ballabh Pant Sanskriti Upvan reverberated with music and was crowded with people from all walks of life .

Various cultural programmes and folk dances of Uttarakhand were organized to enthrall the audience.

Kumaoni dance led by Aruna Upadhyay and group dance by the team of Ronnie Singh got a lot of applause.

A special cultural programme was also held on the theme of women empowerment through self-defense training which was appreciated by chief guest, Padma Shri writer Dr Vidya Vindu Singh.

She said that the knowledge of self -defense techniques makes women physically and mentally healthy and plays an important role in their protection.

Meanwhile, visitors were seen busy shopping at stalls set up at the venue.

The foodies were seen enjoying mouth-watering delicacies.

Children who came with their parents were seen having a gala time. Besides, a free medical camp was also organised at the fest.
