LUCKNOW: Students of Avadh Girls Degree College (AGDC) celebrated 74th Founder's Day with various classical dance performances on Saturday.
Prof Kumkum Dhar, a renowned dance exponent of the Lucknow School of Kathak and the senior disciple of the Kathak maestro Guru Lachhu Maharaj, was the chief guest at the event. College manager Prof Nishi Pandey felicitated her on the occasion.
The celebration began with students performing 'Ganesha Vandana' followed by 'The Jugalbandi'- a synchronized melange of lyrics, ghungroo and tabla beats. A medley performance followed by 'Raas' was also staged.
Addressing the students, Dhar said success is not easy and its cost can take a toll at times, but they should always aspire to make a mark and leave their footprints on time. She related personal anecdotes to highlight how change in mindset will bring an effective change and gender equality in society.
