Lucknow: SP youth wing protests against arrest of students during CAA clash

against the arrest of students protesting Citizen Amendment Act across Uttar Pradesh


The protests came within an hour after party national president Akhilesh Yadav issued a statement criticizing government and police for the alleged brutality in the anti-CAA protests. The workers were shouting anti-government slogans and they held placards against police actions during CAA clashes.

Police tried to disperse the protestors leading to a chaotic situation after which they were forcibly detained and taken to Eco Garden.

Meanwhile, SP chief spokesperson Rajendra Chaudhary alleged that the government is not allowing party workers to voice the opinion of protestors put behind the bars across the state.

“Several youth wing members sustained injuries after police used force to drag them to the vehicles. They have been detained for a peaceful demonstration. This sort of political repression is unhealthy to democracy," he said.
