Lucknow: Play depicts life, emotions of a woman

LUCKNOW: A mono-act play 'Ek Chalni, Ek Angoothi, Ek Rumal', based on a story written by acclaimed Hindi writer Amrita Pritam was staged at Sanatkada House in Kaiserbagh on Saturday.

The play revolved around a woman Banti who is in love with a man Raju but is married to some other man by her family. After her marriage, Banti takes to letters to share her feelings to her school friend Amrita. She informs Amrita that it is not just her misery, but the life of every woman is like an earthen oven in which they have to burn all their emotions.

Organized by The Mocking Birds in association with Lucknow Bioscope, the play was directed by Shubham Tiwari. Gunjan Jain played the protagonist Banti.
