LUCKNOW: A missing 14-year-old girl, who was allgedly kidnapped on Friday night, was rescued from a neighbour's residence in Nishatganj on Saturday. The police lodged a case against Attaullah (20) and arrested him for allegedly abducting the girl.
Additional deputy commissioner of police (North zone) Rajesh Srivastava said the girl's father had lodged a missing complaint on Saturday afternoon.
The police started a search after lodging the complaint. On the basis of inputs gathered from locals, they reached the residence of Attaullah and found the girl there. "The medical examinations of the accused and the girl were being done and their statements would be recorded on Sunday," said Srivastava. Mahanagar ACP, Sonam Kumar, said the police are trying to establish the sequence of events leading to the girl reaching Attaullah's residence.
