LUCKNOW: About 130 artworks of 75 prominent artists have been put on display at Lalit Kala Akademi Regional center as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsava.

The exhibition was inaugurated by folk singer Malini Awasthi on Sunday.

Spread in three galleries, the artworks are depicting various aspects of society and politics, shades of human life and India's freedom struggle. The paintings are made with several techniques such as etching, wood cutting, lithography while others are made by watercolour, acrylic and oil on paper and canvas.

The sculptures are made out of copper, bronze, terracotta, fiber, fiber glass and ceramic are also exhibited.

Artists whose paintings are on display include Late Sukhvir Sanghal, R S Sakhya, Mohammad Shakil, Girish Tiwari and Manoj Kumar Hansraj and among sculptors include Shivbalak, Vidhyasagar, Udayraj and Vikas Kumar.

The exhibition will remain open till August 19 from 11am to 6pm. Tricolour flags were distributed after the inauguration.
