LU bicycle rally to touch historical sites
Lucknow: With the objective of making students and society aware of the historical places of Lucknow and its surroundings, Lucknow University is organising a ‘cycle yatra' (bicycle rally) from March 24-26 on the direction of Chancellor and Governor Anandiben Patel.The motto of this cycle yatra is ‘Ek Desh Nek Desh-Pragati Path Par Hamara Desh'."This cycle yatra will cover about 160km, stopping at the major historical places of Lucknow. It will pass through the villages adopted by LU. It will also establish dialogue with the village heads and other special members of society on the way, along with street plays and speeches on national issues by special speakers," said LU spokesperson Durgesh Srivastava.He said this yatra will start from LU's Vivekanand gate 3 on March 24 at 8am and will reach CB Gupta College via Parivartan Chowk, Residency and Bada Imambara, Shia PG College, visiting the historical site, Bakshi Ka Talab. Thereafter, while going to the villages adopted by LU, it will visit the historical Chandrika Devi Temple and will reach Rahimabad and Kakori train action plan site on the final day, from where it will return to LU gate 2.
