LMC approves major dvlopmt projects; new township in Amausi included
Lucknow: Lucknow Municipal Corporation on Wednesday held a House meeting in which it unanimously cleared a series of development proposals including construction of a township on 21.6 acre of land in Amausi.
LMC has 41.6 acre land in Amausi out of which 20 acres comes in the shooting range. It was decided that the shooting range will be revamped through public-private partnership, and the remaining 21.6 acre land will be given to LDA for construction of residential apartments.
The House also decided to hand over 5,429.96 square metres of land in Jiyamau, returned by Deendayal Upadhyay Seva Nyas, to LDA for planned development.
It also approved a ward development fund of Rs 1.10 crore for each of the city’s 110 wards. The fund will be used for construction of drains, roads and other infrastructure at the local level.
Mayor Sushma Kharkwal said the decisions reflect a coordinated push to improve basic services and facilitate planned urban growth.
Construction of road in Aliganj, Gol Market, Kapoorthala and Rajnikhand was also approved in the House meeting. The proposal to simplify property mutation rates was approved as well.
It also approved the proposals to install solar lights in parks across the city, beautification of Dhobighat pond in Alamnagar, desilting the Kukrail River and developing green zones in Natkur using the ‘Miyawaki’ method.
To tackle waterlogging in the city, drainage and sewer projects were sanctioned in Lohia Nagar, Vikas Nagar and Bhawaniganj, along with an underground drainage system near Amausi railway station.
Municipal commissioner, Gaurav Kumar said, “We are prioritising projects that address drainage, road connectivity and public amenities. Clear timelines will be set and monitored to ensure these works are completed without delays.”
