LUCKNOW: After fighting
Covid-19
for 42 days,
Leader of Opposition in UP Assembly
and senior Samajwadi Party leader
Ram Govind Chaudhary
was discharged on Monday after his report came negative. Chaudhary was admitted to SGPGI on June 23. His gunner, too, had tested positive.
“He has recovered completely from Covid-19 and other comorbid conditions,” said an official statement from SGPGI.
The 66-year-old leader was brought to the hospital from Ballia after he developed Covid symptoms.
“Besides being Covid-10 positive, the patient showed clear signs of pneumonia when he was brought here,” said SGPGI director Prof RK Dhiman. “His condition was serious in the wake of his chronic diseases like diabetes and heart ailment. Accordingly, the patient was classified as a high risk case. The patient was put on oxygen support as he complained of breathlessness,” he added.
Chaudhary remained on oxygen support for 10 days.
