LDA serves notice on builder close to Atiq

Lucknow: Lucknow Development Authority on Friday issued a ‘sealing’ notice to an apartment in Aashiana constructed by builder Mohammad Muslim, who was a close associate of slain gangster Atiq Ahmed. LDA had recently sealed another building of Mohd Muslim in Ratan Khand of Shardanagar.LDA has directed Muslim to respond to the notice within 30 days. The apartment, Royal Galaxy, is located in Sector M of Aashiana. Officer on special duty, LDA enforcement wing, Devansh Trivedi, said, “Upon examination of documents and current status, it was found that the construction of the apartment exceeded the approved limits. Moreover, the parking and setback area were also encroached upon.” He said if the builder fails to provide a satisfactory response then the building would be sealed and later demolished.Meanwhile, zone-1 LDA team removed encroachments from a commercial land valued at Rs 32 crore in Gomtinagar on Friday. The drive was carried out on the directive of LDA vice-chairman Indramani Tripathi. Besides, the enforcement team conducted inspections in the Chandan area of Indiranagar. It identified two illegal shopping complexes and 58 row-house buildings and sealed them for violating LDA norms.
