LUCKNOW: In a major development, secretary, Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) Vijay Kumar Yadav was transferred by the state government here on Sunday.
No official reason has been cited for his transfer. Yadav will now take charge as joint secretary at the department of national integration, government sources said.
A Provincial Civil Services (PCS) officer of the 1989 batch Yadav was posted to the LDA amidst much controversy.

One of the junior-most officer he took charge when he was of the level of joint secretary.
As per convention, only special secretary-rank officer is made the LDA secretary. So, Yadav's posting as secretary LDA raised many an eyebrow.
Prior to this posting, Yadav was joint-secretary LDA. And before that he was posted as additional district magistrate (ADM) at Etawah.
Interestingly, BB Singh, the present vice-chairman (VC) of the LDA, was the district magistrate at that time. The transfer of Yadav is once again shrouded in mystery.
Significantly, it was during his tenure that the land scam involving out-of-turn allotment of 28 plots to VIPs rocked the state. The issue is still pending with the Supreme Court.
