Lucknow: Six people were arrested for indulging in violence during a late-night show of the movie ‘Pushpa-2: The Rule' at a multiplex on Ring Road on Tuesday.
A video of the clash went viral in which a group of men are purportedly seen jumping, hitting with belts and kicking and punching each other.
Cops said that acting against the troublemakers, the Vikasnagar police initiated legal action against six people who were sent to judicial custody.
On Tuesday night, assistant manager at a multiplex on Ring Road, Durgesh Kumar, informed the police that a scuffle had broken out during the late-night show, causing chaos and panic among the audience, including women and children.
"Police reached the spot and tried to pacify both the groups involved in the fight. However, the accused did not pay heed to the police and continued to fight, they were taken into custody under Section 170 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and legal action was taken against the accused under Sections 126 and 135 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS)," said ADCP, north zone, JK Dubey.
In-charge of Vikasnagar police station Alok Kumar Singh said the accused were identified as Vishal Babu (24), Deepak Chauhan (22), Shivam Chauhan (18), Tapash (18), Arsalan (18), and Nooruddin (23).
"All of them are labourers. The situation escalated when a scene in the movie prompted some people to start hooting which led to a verbal spat and a scuffle," he said.
