KGBV girls win accolades at R-Day parade
Lucknow: Girls from Lucknow's Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) bagged the first position in the Republic Day Parade in the state capital. For the first time, 80 students from KGBVs in Malihabad, Chinhat, and Sarojininagar in Lucknow were selected to participate in the parade.These girls were recognised by the Agriculture Production Commissioner (APC) Monika S Garg in a ceremony held at Police Lines. The KGBV team underwent rigorous training at their schools for almost two months before the parade. For a fortnight, they received intensive training at the Police Lines.Basic education minister Sandeep Singh said, "This achievement reflects Yogi govt's vision for education and women empowerment. The success of these girls will not only boost their confidence but also raise awareness about education and women empowerment in society."He added, "It serves as an inspiration, encouraging other girls to recognise their potential.
