Lucknow: Several programmes were organised in the state capital on the birth anniversary of Kabir Das on Tuesday. The events emphasized on the need to follow the teachings of the bhakti-era poet and saint on social and communal harmony in contemporary India.
A symposium on the life of Kabir was organized by the Akhil Bhartiya Bhojpuri Samaj at Vishveshwarya Auditorium. It was followed by songs presented by the Kabir Panthis and a poet meet.
Later, participants were felicitated.
State Ayush minister (independent charge) Dayashankar Mishra and BJP youth leader Neeraj Singh were present in the programme.
A poster making and ‘Kabir Vaani’ singing competition was organised by the Sanskritiki and Kavyom Clubs of the Lucknow University.
Various verses written by Kabir were sung during a special diwan organised at gurudwara Naka Hindola. Gyani Harvinder Singh shared some interesting facts from the life of Kabir.
