Judicial probe ordered into death of UP gangster-politician Mukhtar Ansari

LUCKNOW: A judicial inquiry has been initiated into the death of mafia-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari, who died during treatment at Banda Medical College on Thursday night. The order for the inquiry was issued by Chief Judicial Magistrate Bhagwan Das Gupta.

Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (MP/MLA Court), Banda, Garima Singh, has been appointed as the investigating officer to conduct a thorough inquiry into the matter. Garima's task is to ensure that the judicial inquiry adheres to prescribed rules and regulations, with the expectation of submitting the inquiry report within one month.




A copy of this order is to be maintained in the relevant guard file for documentation purposes. This directive aims to ensure transparency and adherence to due process in the investigation of Mukhtar Ansari's demise.

The development came after senior superintendent of district jail, Banda, requested to nominate an investigating officer for a judicial inquiry into the circumstances surrounding Ansari's death.
