Joy embraces diversity in Baisakhi ‘jashn’ in Lucknow

Lucknow: A vibrant celebration of Baisakhi was organised as ‘Jashn e Baharan' by Lucknow Connection Worldwide, a Facebook community with over 72,000 members, at a private hotel in the city on Sunday.Showcasing cultural diversity, the event commenced with a welcome address by the group's admins Anil Shukla, Shoaib Quraishi and by the group founder Sunil Mishra, who emphasised LCWW's mission to bring people together to celebrate culture, creativity and sharing of humanity.Highlight of the evening was a spirited Punjabi cultural performance by students and teachers of Guru Nanak Girls Inter College, led by principal Manjeet Kaur. A rocking ‘Gidda' and vibrant folk songs by Jaspreet Kaur and Inderjeet Kaur brought the Baisakhi flavour alive. Other performances included musical and dance performances by Ananya Madar, Rahul Pandey, Madhumita Rakshit, Rakesh Sharma, Anju Yadav and many others.The evening also featured joyful birthday celebrations of its members, P S Jaggi, Rajeev Saxena, Rashmi Mishra and others. Anniversary wishes were extended to Ila Gupta and Dr S K Gupta. Programme director P S Jaggi commended the platform on which talent and tradition flourish together. Chief guest IPS (Retd.), former DIG (Legal), Uttar Pradesh Police, G N Khanna, praised LCWW's efforts in promoting cultural harmony and said, "Such celebrations reflect our shared heritage and collective joy." He also lauded the community's commitment to cultural preservation.
