GORAKHPUR: Emphasising that investors and entrepreneurs will not face any problems in the state, Chief Minister
Yogi Adityanath on Monday said the government guarantees their security and all necessary facilities to them. “In an unsafe environment, investments do not happen and institutions move towards devaluation,”
Yogi said.
Hitting out at the previous regimes, Yogi said UP was in a very different state before 2017.
“Crime and mafia held sway over every system. Lawlessness was at its peak. The state experienced riots every other day. Corruption was rampant. In such an environment, the youth of the state faced an identity crisis. Development work had come to a standstill. No one invested in an unsafe environment,” he added.
“However, in the last six years, after a double-engine government came to power in the state and under the guidance and leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the people have seen a transformed
Uttar Pradesh,” Yogi said. “Not a slaughterhouse, but an ethanol plant, dairy, and pipe factory are defining this area,” the CM said.
He said the Global Investors Summit brought investments proposals worth Rs 36 lakh crore for the state, with nearly Rs 2 lakh crore for Gorakhpur alone. “With these proposals, there is a possibility of providing jobs and employment to approximately 1 crore youth,” he said. Yogi emphasised the importance of providing skill development courses tailored to the needs of local youth.
He advised the GIDA administration to open centres that offer courses according to the requirements of local industries. “This would facilitate the integration of local youth into these industries, reducing the chances of migration during crises like the Covid-19 pandemic,” he added.
The CM mentioned that industries should have excellent basic facilities. The GIDA administration has worked on various programmes such as roads, drainage, and streetlights to provide these facilities. He emphasised that industrial areas should be developed in such a way that not only encourages investments but also provides a high quality of life for the employees working there.
The CM noted that in recent days, many industries have started operations in the GIDA region. Yogi said GIDA is experiencing significant expansion, with the government planning to extend it from Sahjanwa to Dhuriyapar.
During the inauguration of the newly constructed factory of M/s Tatva Plastic Pipes Private Limited in GIDA Sector 26, Yogi inspected the factory premises and the production process. During the event, the CM distributed allocation letters for 102 plots to 97 investors/entrepreneurs
