As many as 18 artists from across the country and Bangladesh have beautifully sketched the emotions of life through their paint brushes in an art exhibition 'Catharsis' that began at Kala Srot Art Gallery on Sunday.

LUCKNOW: As many as 18 artists from across the country and Bangladesh have beautifully sketched the emotions of life through their paint brushes in an art exhibition 'Catharsis' that began at Kala Srot Art Gallery on Sunday.
As many as 80 artworks including paintings, photographs and performing art pieces are part of the exhibition. Paintings made with mix media, acrylic, oil, water colours, tempra colours and pen on paper and canvas along with collages and photographs are displayed.

Organized by Art Family, the exhibition will remain open till March 17 from 12am to 7pm daily.

The exhibition includes caricatures, abstract paintings, composition, landscapes and portraits.
Curated by Rajid Sikdar, artists from Bangladesh including Najma Akhtar, Rashed Sukhon, Taslima Akhtar Badhon, Abu Kalam Shamshuddin and artists from parts of India including Jaideep Bhattacharya (Tirpura), S.A. Jafar (Aligarh), Biplab Dutta (New Delhi), Palash Paul (Kolkata), Manisha Dohra (Agra), Harprasad Chatterjee (Kolkata), Khokan Raut (Kolkata), Chanchal Sinha Rai (Andaman and Nicobar), Hiranmoy Patnaik (New Delhi), Tapan Mitra (Kolkata), Subro Kumar Chatterjee (Kolkata), Maitri Nandi (New Delhi), Sanjay Raj (Lucknow) and Shikdar are a part of the exhibition.
