A fine of over Rs 50,000 was slapped on the residence of an IFS officer in Viram Khand of Gomtinagar on Sunday, following an alleged case of power theft.

LUCKNOW: A fine of over Rs 50,000 was slapped on the residence of an IFS officer in Viram Khand of Gomtinagar on Sunday, following an alleged case of power theft.
Another case of power theft was reported from a paediatrician of the same area. An assessment charge of Rs 56,000 was slapped on the family, said SDO (Gomtinagar), Lesa, Salil Yadav. The Lesa squad also cracked down upon an NTPC guest house.

Yadav said that the guest house was having a 5 KV metre, despite there being a load of 16 KV. A fine of Rs 61,748 was imposed on the guest house.
