Homeopathic docs to retire at 62 years: HC

Lucknow: The Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court has determined the retirement age of government homeopathic doctors of provincial services to be 62 years. The bench said that the retirement age of government allopathic doctors is 62 but of homeopathic doctors is 60 years, which violates the principle of equality. A bench of Justice Vivek Chaudhary passed the order on the plea of Dr SK Yadav. It was pleaded on his behalf that in 2017, the retirement age of allopathic doctors of provincial services was increased to 62 years, but it was not increased for homeopathic doctors, which was discrimination. He had questioned his retirement on December 31, 2021 at the age of 60 years.
