out on bail and his aide were arrested on Sunday in connection with the case. The two were identified as Pankaj Verma and his aide Vijay Dwivedi. Verma is accused of murdering student leader Abhay Pratap Singh in 2007 in Lakhimpur Kheri, and several cases of extortion and loot. Police are still looking for Verma's third accomplice Prince. Rs 11,000, three gold rings, and two country-made pistols were recovered from the miscreants.

On November 14, jeweller Anil Kumar Soni had been robbed of 2 kg silver ornaments, 70 gram of gold ornaments and Rs 70,000 cash.

SSP Lucknow Kalanidhi Naithani said that CCTV footage showed the miscreants tailing Soni. Naithani said police arrested Dwivedi near Ghaila bridge on Sunday."On November 14, we targeted Soni," he told police.

The two took the booty to Gola Gokarnath in Lakhimpur Kheri and hid the jewellery in a house. After being tipped-off by Dwivedi, police later arrested Verma from Kheri.
