Hindi journalist shoots self in Rajajipuram

LUCKNOW: A 52-year-old journalist with a

Hindi

daily in Lucknow allegedly shot himself at his home in

Rajajipuram

on Tuesday.


The journalist, identified as Kalyan Singh Yadav, lived with his wife Seema and their son Amit in E-block of Rajajipuram.

Around 3pm, Kalyan’s tenant Puja Pandey, who lives on the first floor of the house, heard a gunshot and rushed to the ground floor. She saw Kalyan lying in a pool of blood in his room. Seema and Amit too came in running.

Amit took his father to KGMU trauma centre where Kalyan died during treatment.

SHO Talkatora Sanjay Pandey said Kalyan had shot himself with his licensed single barrel gun. The motive behind the suicide was not clear.
