Hindi adaptation of Germanplaywright’s work staged

Lucknow: Play ‘Ajab Nayay, Gajab Nayay’ was staged by the second year students of Bhartendu Natya Academy at its auditorium on Friday.
It was a combination of three plays written by German playwright Bertolt Brecht- ‘Good Woman of Setzuan’, ‘Expection and the rule’ and ‘Caucasian Chalk Circle’ which was adapted in hindi by thespians Neelabh, Amitabh Srivastava, Atul Tiwari and Surya Mohan Kulshrestha.
In the first part of the play- ‘Aurat Bhali Ramkali’, lord Shiva and goddess Parvati come to visit earth along with Nandi, played by Divya Kumar, Manisha and Sachin respectively, and find that a sex worker Ramkali (Vaishnavi Seth) continues to be on right path despite hardships in life.
The second part - ‘Apvaad aur Niyam’, revolves around a corrupt judge (Divya Kumar Shukla) who is only interested in making money.
The third part- ‘Insaf ka ghera’ shows an alcoholic judge Ajabdas (Sachin Patel) rules in favour of maid, Usha (Nancy Seth), who had rescued son of a queen .
