‘Health gardens can promote healthy lifestyle’

Lucknow: By harming nature, the humans are becoming their own enemies.
The thought was expressed by Lucknow East MLA OP Srivastava at the 'Arogya Vatika 2.0' event held at Babu Jodh Singh Park, Shivajipuram, Indiranagar, on Sunday.
While highlighting the importance of medicinal plants, he urged people to conserve nature. Srivastava encouraged residents to create ‘Arogya Vatikas' (health gardens) on their rooftops and balconies to promote a healthier lifestyle.
CRPF director (retd) Anand Prakash Maheshwari, who attended the event as a special guest, advocated for growing organic vegetables at home, stressing their health benefits. He also underscored the importance of waste management awareness. Zonal Officer Akash Kumar highlighted the need for youth participation in combating climate change and emphasised the importance of segregating dry and wet waste, especially with the rapid development in Indiranagar.
Various speakers at the event called for planting medicinal plants in every home and creating organic compost from kitchen waste. The Shivajipuram Residential Committee announced plans to launch awareness campaigns, with speakers expressing hope for significant changes through small, collective efforts.
