'He was avid theatre and music lover'

LUCKNOW: Apart from being a great scientist, Dr CR Krishnamurti was an avid theatre and music lover and had excellent command over English, Tamil, Malayalam and Sanskrit, said renowned actor and former CDRI scientist Anil Rastogi.

"He was very good at Carnatic music and a good singer. He even had good knowledge of theatre. When he came to know that I am an artist, he watched some of my plays and made sure to discuss my performance the next day," said Rastogi.

He said: "Krishnamurti sirused to discuss famous plays of Girish Karnad and others with me. He was humble to the extent that even after becoming the head of the biochemistry division of CDRI he continued to work like a research scholar ."
