'Have seen women chopped into 50 pieces': UP governor Anandiben Patel warns girls against live-in relationships; urges focus on education
LUCKNOW: , while addressing convocation ceremonies at (MGKVP), and Sampurnanand Sanskrit University in Varanasi on Wednesday, cautioned young women against entering live-in relationships.
Speaking to students, the Governor said, “If you want to see the outcome of live-in relationships, go look at orphanages, where 15-20 year-old girls are standing in line with one-year-old kids.
Live-in relationships have become a trend these days. But, stay away from it.”
“I have seen women being chopped up into 50 pieces," she added further.
She urged girls to devote themselves to their education and better aims, warning that neither maternal families nor in-laws may care for them later.
The Governor also voiced concern over increasing drug abuse among youth and highlighted the need for students to develop a sense of duty and national responsibility alongside academic degrees.
