Lucknow: Ayush Sahu (24) was en route to his sister’s house on Wednesday night when he got the news that he had secured all India rank (
AIR
) 100 in the NEET-PG entrance result.
A student of King George’s Medical University, Ayush hails from
Rae Bareli
. He was awarded a gold medal at KGMU convocation held in January. “My sister is a doctor at AIIMS Delhi. She began distributing sweets as soon as my result was out. I hope to get through my desired Delhi college through this rank,” Ayush told TOI. “Since fourth standard, I have wanted to become a doctor. I put in all my hard work into realising that passion when I started preparing in class 9. I am habitual of managing my studies and postings from the first year,” said Ayush, who secured a score of 655 out of 800. He wants to pursue academics in the future.
Ira Gupta
, 25, also made her alma mater KGMU proud by securing AIR 435. Ira belongs to Etah. Ira said, “I will decide which stream to take after consultation with my seniors. There were several moments where I got depressed and thought I would not be able to continue further. I am glad to have stuck on.”
Pranjal Shukla of Lucknow secured AIR 560. He is also from KGMU and his parents are doctors. He wants to follow his parents step and take up general medicine. His father Dr Pradeep shukla is a paediatrician and mother Dr Veena Shukla a gynecologist.
