Happy Streets: When the streets turned into Happy hunting ground for health enthusiasts
Lucknow: On World Arthritis Day, the streets came alive with energy and positivity as Happy Streets transformed into a vibrant hub of health and wellness activities. Participants of all ages embraced with all enthusiasm the spirit of movement and fun.The day witnessed a lively Cyclathon, as riders pedalled their way through the streets, showcasing the importance of staying active.The Yoga sessions brought a sense of calm and balance to the morning, with participants stretching deeply, embodying the theme of self-care and physical well-being."Arthritis may be a daily struggle, but events like these remind us that together, we can move mountains or at least pedal past them. Spreading awareness about arthritis and letting people know that exercise and staying fit is the cure is a great initiative," said Anjali Mishra, a health enthusiast.With morning walkers joining, the event turned into a celebration of resilience and joint health. The joy was contagious, spreading through the crowd as people played together. Friendly matches of cricket and carrom drew in participants, while some tested their aim in shooting competitions. Others tried their luck at putting the ball into the joker's mouth, drawing smiles and laughter from the onlookers. For golf enthusiasts, mini-putt challenges added a dash of sportiness to the day."It's heartening to see so many people come together, young and old, to support such a cause. Every step, every pedal, and every stretch counts towards a healthier future. It's a great initiative by the organisers," said cyclist Arpit Sharma.Happy Streets truly lived up to its name, offering a colourful blend of activities that emphasised the importance of mobility and shared joy.Each movement, whether a yoga pose, a pedal, or swings of the cricket bat, was a reminder that arthritis is not a barrier but a call to stay active and celebrate life.
