HAL chief to head aeronautical society

KANPUR: Chairman of the Hindustan Aeronautic Ltd NR Mohanty has been elected as the president of Aeronautical Society of India. He will succeed Dr Kota Harinarayana.
NR Mohanty, Chairman, HAL, is a graduate in mechanical engineering from REC Rourkela (1965). Prior to his appointment as chairman, HAL in September 2001, he was the managing director (MiG complex) of HAL Nasik and Director (Personnel) since August 94.
Mohanty Joined HAL in June’71 and served as General Manager of HAL Koraput and Nasik divisions before being appointed as Managing Director. Prior to his appointment in HAL, he served as a lecturer in mechanical engineering at the REC, Rourkela and manager in Ordnance factories.
He is fellow of the institution of engineers (India) and member of the advisory committee of SCOPE. TNN
