Lucknow: City gurdwaras celebrated the birth anniversary of Bhakti movement poet
Kabir as part of the morning diwans on Sunday. At Gurdwara Naka Hindola, the ‘diwan’ began with ‘Asa ki Vaar’ and ‘Kabirbanis’ inscribed in Guru Granth Sahib.
It was followed by Gyani Sukhdev Singh shedding light over the life and works of Kabir.
President, Gurdwara Naka, Rajendra Singh Bagga said that there were 534 ‘shabad’ and ‘shlokas’ in the Guru Granth Sahib.
“When Guru Arjan Dev was compiling Guru Granth Sahib he added Kabirbanis in Guru Granth Sahib and gave equal position to Kabir as other gurus,” he said.

Harvinder Singh spoke about the life and contributions of Kabir which was followed by ‘kirtan’ by Gurmukh Singh. TNN
