Lucknow: Members of Motivagers Club, which works towards caring and entertaining senior citizens living in seclusion, organized grandparents’ day celebration.
During the event, elderly people, along with volunteers of the NGO, enjoyed several games like quiz, guess the slogan, dance and music competitions.
Elderly club member Suresh Singh entertained all the members by singing ghazal, while another elderly Rajni Rai recited a poem. Other members such as CP Gupta and Sunita Veer asked riddles from members. Grand parents of two, Manju Shukla won the rapid round quiz.
Some of elderly even shared the memories of their grandparents, while others narrated about their relationship with their grandchildren. Later, birthday cakes too were cut for senior most elderly members ND Dwivedi and Saksham Sinha.
Gaurav Chhabra (32), founder of Motivagers Club said, “I started this club in 2017 after realizing how elderly citizens of the city are living secluded lives. With the help of friends like Astha Singh, Vaibhav Pratap Singh, Ankit Chhabra, Rachit Singh, Ishita Chauhan, Shikhar Yaduvanshi, Richa Shukla, Vanshika Dwivedi, Ayushi Pahwa, Vinayak Mishra and Vaibhav Sindhi, we have been helping elderly to overcome their depression and sense of seclusion.”
