Govt to run special campaigns in villages with low farmers registration
Lucknow: To meet the Apr 30 deadline for ensuring 100% registry of farmers in the state, the govt will be carrying out special campaigns in villages where the registrations of the farmers has been low till now.
Chief Secretary, SP Goyal, recently held a review meeting of the status of the farmers registration, and has directed the officials to run an extensive awareness campaign through loudspeakers, advertisements in local newspapers, and active participation of village heads, so that information reaches every farmer and the pace of registration increases.
Directions have been given to include all farmers for the registration process, whether or not they are beneficiaries under the PM Kisan Yojna.
“Farmer ID has been made mandatory in the state from May 15. Without it, farmers will not be able to avail benefits of govt agricultural schemes, fertilizers and seeds. The Digital Crop Survey for Zaid 2026 will also be conducted within the stipulated timeline. For this, district level teams will be trained on Apr 28, while the survey campaign will be conducted across the state from May 1 to May 31,” said a government spokesperson.
The Digital Crop Survey will allow for an accurate assessment of crops, which will help in better implementation of schemes, the official added.
