LUCKNOW: All government banks across the country will observe strike on Monday and Tuesday. The strike has been called protest against Indian Banks Association's (IBA) failure to get hike in salaries of the bank employees.
The all India association of bank employees, United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU), said banks employees will gather at Allahabad Bank's Hazratganj branch on Monday.

They will hold a meeting at SBI Hazratganj branch on Tuesday to protest against banks' failure in increasing their salaries.
UFBU said the two-day strike would affect clearing of cheques worth Rs 5,00 crore in Lucknow alone, whereas across state the impact would be around Rs 15,000 crore. The city has 25 government banks.
The bank employees have been demanding 30% hike. The demand has been pending since 2012. UFBU had earlier demanded 50% hike in salary which was denied by IBA. The bankers had offered 5% hike in December last year which was eventually turned down by them.
