Gold powder seized from air traveller

LUCKNOW: A person travelling from from Dubai to Lucknow was held at

concealed in in long pocket on the waste line at the upper portion of the trousers, on Wednesday.

This is the second instance of a traveller carrying illegal gold from Gulf countries. Earlier, custom officials had intercepted 469 gram gold worth Rs 15 lakh concealed in dates’ packet. Commissioner (customs) SK Sharma said that for the first time they were intercepting illegal gold sale into India in different forms.

The person arrested was identified as Shadab of

Shamli

and was nabbed after he deboarded a flight coming from Dubai. Shadab was booked under Section 110 of the Customs Act 1962 The gold powder was mixed with another powder.
